Whither goest, blog mou?

Despite an overwhelming response from my legions of fans all over the world . . . .

I need to make some changes in this blog. I'm thinking of making it a general blog for both koine and modern Greek. Possibly a place, among other things, to link to my byki lists, etc.

Stay tuned! In the meantime, χαίρετε! Ευγενία

I am currently taking Ancient Greek and will transition to Koine Greek after this class. I would like to get a tattoo that states, "give because He gave", but I would like it in Koine Greek. Can you translate for me? Thank you for your help! I will check back to this post to see if you are able to help:)

My expertise, such as it is, is more in modern Greek. Since tattoos are permanent, I hesitate to suggest anything from Koine!

Thank you anyway:)

This may seem a bit odd, but one of my hobbies is to learn the Lord's Prayer in different languages. I'd LOVE to do so in Greek. I can puzzle out the transliteration of the letters, but I know enough to know that won't teach me the pronunciation I'd like to know. Can you advise me on where to locate the best pronunciation guide????

On Monday, 27 October 2008 there is a post on this blog labeled 'The Lord's Prayer' - it should link to a page on box.net, which has a file of me reading the Lord's Prayer in Greek. Please note that I use the modern Greek pronunciation of koine Greek. Have fun!
